Matthew C. Shepard

Mr. Shepard concentrates his practice in the fields of civil litigation, criminal defense and estate planning.
Mr. Shepard received his J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and his B.A. from Western Michigan University.
Prior to becoming licensed as an attorney, Mr. Shepard served as a police officer for over 9 years and as a Police Detective with an Oakland County Department for the last 5, he was the Officer-in-Charge on hundreds of criminal cases with a success rate of well over 90% of those where criminal prosecution was sought.
Mr. Shepard also works at Thomas M. Cooley Law School in the Estate Planning Clinic supervising student interns in preparing estate plans for local residents.

Mara J. Wegerski

Ms. Wegerski concentrates her practice in the fields of Civil Litigation, Criminal Defense and Estate Planning.
Ms. Wegerski received her J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and her Bachelors of Arts Degree from Sweet Briar College. During her final year in law school, Ms. Wegerski interned at the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office, giving her intimate knowledge of some of the procedures used by the prosecutor.
Ms. Wegerski also volunteers her time at Common Ground Sanctuary.

Sara Strach

Ms. Strach received her J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and her Bachelor of Science from Northern Michigan University.
While at Thomas M. Cooley Law School Ms. Strach concentrated in Business Transactions with a specialty in Estate Planning. She helped pilot the Auburn Hills Estate Planning Clinic and continues to mentor students currently in the program. In addition, Ms. Strach clerked for a circuit court judge at Oakland County Circuit Court.
Ms. Strach is a licensed real estate agent with legal experience in Modern Real Estate Transactions. Her work in the real estate market has helped her to stay current with the changing economy.
Additionally, for several years she worked for a law firm specializing in family law and probate matters.
